“Theo and Thanasis were a wealth of knowledge in relation to everything Greek and Greece as a whole. From travel to accommodation to food and culture. Being of Greek heritage and visiting Greece 5 times prior to using Monobrow Holidays, I thought I was set. However they showed me more than I could have ever expected.”

TrustpilotFrequently asked questions
We are all about having fun and making people smile. If you smiled when you saw the name, it worked.
We're based in Athens, Greece, right at the heart of the country we love.
Thanasis has over 30 years of experience in the Greek travel industry, having spent decades building an extensive network of vetted suppliers and personal contacts across every island and region. Theo brings world-class customer service expertise to complement that local knowledge.
We're transparent, highly responsive, and genuinely passionate about Greece and sharing our local knowledge, tips and advice with customers.
It starts with a conversation, either over WhatsApp, a video call, or email. We listen to what you want, then put together a high-level itinerary. You give us feedback, we refine it, and we keep going until it's exactly right. Then we handle all the bookings and logistics, and you travel.
Once you're in Greece, you'll have access to a dedicated WhatsApp group where Theo or Thanasis are available to help with anything: itinerary adjustments, restaurant recommendations, unexpected changes, or just a question about where to find the best local taverna.
Planning a gay Greece trip
Yes, and it is one of the more welcoming countries in Europe, though the picture varies by where you are and we would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
- Athens, Mykonos and Thessaloniki: visibly comfortable. Gazi in Athens is the established scene neighbourhood, and nobody looks twice at a couple holding hands.
- Mykonos: the most relaxed place in the country, and has been since the 1970s.
- Smaller islands and the rural mainland: welcoming but more traditional. Not hostile, just quieter. We plan around this rather than around a map.
- Legally: anti-discrimination protections in employment date from 2005, conversion therapy for minors was banned in 2022, and same-sex marriage passed in February 2024.
Yes. Greece legalised same-sex marriage in February 2024, becoming the first Orthodox-majority country in the world to do so.
- Civil unions: recognised since 2015.
- Marriage and joint adoption: followed in 2024.
- Foreign couples: can marry in Greece, though the paperwork varies by nationality and takes time to assemble.
- Where people choose: Santorini and Mykonos are the most requested, while Naxos and Paros are quieter and considerably cheaper.
We handle the licensing paperwork, the venue and the logistics. Requirements differ by country of origin, so confirm your own documentation with your consulate before booking flights.
Mykonos is the obvious answer and a genuinely excellent one, but it is not the only answer and for a lot of couples it is not the right one.
- Lesvos, and Skala Eressos: Sappho's birthplace and the most significant lesbian destination in Europe. The International Eressos Women's Festival runs each September.
- Athens: not an island, but the country's most developed year-round scene, concentrated in Gazi and Kerameikos.
- Santorini: romantic rather than social. The honeymoon and wedding island.
- Paros and Naxos: relaxed, mixed, no scene to speak of and completely comfortable. Where we send couples who want each other rather than a crowd.
- Rhodes and Crete: large, mainstream and easy, with pockets of LGBTQ+ nightlife.
Book it before you book anything else, because that week is the single hardest travel window in the Greek islands.
- Flights: around 45 minutes from Athens, and they sell out first.
- Fast ferry: roughly 2.5 to 3 hours from Rafina, which is closer to the airport than Piraeus and consistently overlooked.
- Conventional ferry: cheaper, 4 to 5 hours, and far more sailings.
- The trap: arriving into Athens and connecting the same day. One delayed flight and you have missed the sailing, and there is no seat on the next one.
We hold ferry and transfer bookings for festival week well in advance, which is most of what we do in August.
It depends entirely on whether you have come to party or to recover from one.
- Mykonos Town: Little Venice, the bars and the restaurants, walkable at night. Best for a first visit.
- Paradise and Super Paradise: beach clubs on your doorstep. Loud, and that is the point.
- Elia: the main gay beach, calmer than Paradise and better for couples.
- Agios Ioannis, Ornos and Platis Gialos: quiet and scenic, but you will need transport.
The island is small but the roads are not. Ten kilometres can take forty minutes in August.
Eight to ten days is the sweet spot, and two islands plus Athens beats three islands.
- 3 to 4 days in Athens: the Acropolis, the museums, Gazi at night, and a day trip if you want one.
- 4 to 5 days in Mykonos: beaches, nightlife, and a day of doing nothing.
- Add 3 days: for Santorini if it is a honeymoon, or Naxos or Paros if it is not.
- Under a week: pick one island. Ferry days eat more of a short trip than people expect.
No, and we would gently push back on a trip that assumes Mykonos is the whole country.
- Athens: a genuine destination rather than an airport with ruins attached.
- Lesvos and the Sappho route: a real itinerary, not a novelty.
- Ancient history: there is a queer thread running through it that almost nobody guides properly.
- Everything else: sailing, hiking, food and wine, all the same trips, planned with a team you do not have to explain yourselves to.
